How to keep your drinks cool outside
Storing your drinks in a refrigerator is great if you are going to serve them indoors, but it’s a different story when you’re entertaining alfresco on a hot day.
By the time you carry out a tray of your guests’ favourite tipples, the ice is already melting, and the wine is warm.
And don’t get us started on how many times you have to dash backwards and forwards into the kitchen to retrieve your drinks from the fridge.
Do not despair though, because we have the answer to this irritating problem – the drinks cooler table!
How to keep your drink cool outside
Well, you can go down the route of placing your wine, beers, and other cooling tipples into a bucket of ice.
Simple you may think, but the ice will start to melt almost immediately. You can try to prolong its lifespan by using cubes so that they take longer to melt, or you could add salt to lower the freezing point of the ice so it lasts longer, but the inevitable will happen and eventually you’ll be left with a puddle of water and warm beer.
Another option is packing drinks into a cooler bag, keeping them close together so that hot air does not circulate around them causing them to warm up, but frankly this is all a faff when compared to the drinks cooler table.
A drinks cooler is simply a great way to hold your wine and beer bottles while you entertain outdoors.
If you are always having BBQs or a get-together with friends during the warmer months then this is something you should definitely invest in, as it will not only ensure you serve chilled drinks every time but give you a stylish way to store them too.
Can you use a drinks cooler outside?
Yes, yes yes! They are portable so easily conveyed to the place of your choosing.
There are, however, some things to consider when using a drinks table outside, including:
- You need a power source
- Limited storage capacity could be a problem if you want to store a lot of bottles, say for a wedding party
